The day in class when our professor introduced the zine project and said that all art is lying, cheating, and stealing which resonated with me. Art is lying, cheating, and stealing but in the best way. All “original” ideas are influenced by something: an experience, an image, a story. I am making a compilation of lines and scenes from my favorite songs and movies.

Some are sad, some are happy, some are more adult, and some are fun for the whole family. I think because my art is more playful in general I am trying to have fun with this project. Just let me ideas and creativity take the wheel while I sit back and hope it turns out looking cool. This is my typical process when it comes to creating a piece; I note small things that cause inspiration and work off one idea to another. I never truly stay static in what I am drawing/producing. I feel like I play leapfrog with my pieces, moving from one idea to the next and trying to get them all in my composition.
